Counselling
At V.L.A.D. Outreach CIC, we offer a range of counselling services designed to support individuals in a way that suits their unique needs. We take a pluralistic approach, meaning we don't believe in a "one-size-fits-all" method. Instead, we offer person-centred counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Gestalt therapy—each of which works in different ways to help people understand themselves and manage their challenges.
-
Person-Centred Counselling
This approach is focused on creating a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Your counsellor will listen with empathy and work with you to understand your needs, helping you find your own solutions in a supportive and empowering way.
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It encourages you to identify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours, and then replace them with more positive, practical ways of thinking and acting. CBT is particularly effective for managing anxiety, depression, and stress.
-
Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt therapy focuses on helping you become more aware of your emotions and experiences in the present moment. It encourages self-awareness and personal growth, often exploring how past experiences might be influencing your current life. This approach can bring clarity and help you find balance.
Tailored Support for Your Needs
We understand that everyone’s situation is different, which is why we will discuss your individual needs with you to collaboratively identify the best approach for your healing and growth. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, trauma, or simply feeling lost, we’ll work together to choose the right therapeutic pathway for you.
Accessible, Timely, and Flexible Support
At V.L.A.D. Outreach, we believe that no one should be denied support because of financial barriers. That’s why our counselling services are either free or donation-based, making it easier for you to access the help you need without worrying about cost.
We also understand the importance of timely support, which is why we have no long waiting lists. You won’t have to wait for weeks or months to get the help you need—our aim is for you to begin your journey towards healing as quickly as possible.
How We Deliver Our Services
Currently, our counselling sessions are available either online, walk-and-talk or in a therapy room. Everything we provide is free or donation-based, ensuring that cost will never be a barrier to accessing support. The first 6 sessions are free or donation-based, before a multidisciplinary team evaluates circumstances to create an optional bespoke care plan which can extend support for another 6 weeks, addressing specific needs for a fixed donation of £50.
